National Doctor's Alliance

A Voice for Doctors, Our Profession and Our Patients

The National Doctors Alliance (NDA) SEIU is a leading healthcare advocacy organization founded by the Committee of Interns and Residents, the largest union representing physicians in training; and Doctors Council, the oldest ongoing organization representing attending physicians and dentists. NDA is open to associate membership by individual doctors and to affiliations with other organizations which share our goals and mission.

NDA represents 20,000 doctors nationwide. NDA's mission is to advocate for doctors' rights and patient care.  We are a community of doctors from all specialties. We are a community of doctors
from all specialties. We are part of SEIU Healthcare, a labor organization of two million members including
more than one million doctors, nurses and other healthcare workers.

Members of CIR and Doctors Council have had experiences unique in American medicine. NDA and its members have fought to preserve doctors' rights during both good and bad fiscal times, and have stood up for the preservation of patient care when others sought to streamline, reduce or eliminate care.  Every year, thousands of CIR members finish their residency programs and many Doctors Council members go on to practice medicine in other settings. As these CIR and Doctors Council alumni join NDA as associate members, they will work with other activist-physicians to create a strong progressive voice.
